Our customer service telephone hours are changing

As of 1 October 2025, our telephone customer service will be open from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 11:00.

Warning about scam messages

Scam text messages has been sent to some of our residents. Some of the text messages aim to direct the rent payment to a scam bank account. Heka never sends rent payment information by text message. You can always check the details and status of your rent payments on the Resident Portal or by contacting our customer service.

New wood-cladded Heka location to be completed in Kuninkaantammi in late February – application period starting on 31 October

The new Heka location at Asetelmankatu 1 includes a total of 52 apartments, the sizes of which range from 31.5 to 91.0 m².

Heka rents to rise due to increased costs

Next year, the average monthly rent of the regular apartments owned by Helsingin kaupungin asunnot Oy (Heka) will be EUR 14.11 per square metre. Currently, the average rent is EUR 12.60. Heka’s average rent in 2024 will be 12% higher than in 2023.

Heka to have 127 new homes in Maununneva in December – application starts on 3 October 2023

The housing location Maununnevantie 3 has 127 homes from studios to five-room family housing.

The application period for Postiljooninkatu 2, to be completed in Postipuisto in December, begins on 12.9.

A new location will be completed at Postiljooninkatu 2 in the new residential area of Postipuisto being constructed in Pohjois-Pasila. The location will have 178 apartments ranging from studio apartments to five-room family apartments.

Changes to housing applications – For example the levels of urgency of tenant selection criteria will change 

City of Helsinki makes tenant selections for Heka´s apartments. The levels of urgency used in the selection of tenants for rental housing will change on Wednesday 6 September 2023.

Significantly higher rent increases coming in 2024

The general rise of costs is putting Heka under pressure to increase its rents next year. As a result of the increase in loan interest expenses and other costs, Heka’s 2024 rent increases will be significantly higher than up until now. It is likely that Heka is going to have to increase its rents by more than 10 per cent.
