New Heka apartments to be completed in Oulunkylä in May – application period starts on 24 February
The new Heka location Mestarintie 18 in rapidly developing Oulunkylä will be completed in May. The location includes 47 apartments. The application period for the apartments starts on Tuesday 24 February. You can apply for the apartments by submitting an application to the City of Helsinki.
Submit your housing application to the City of Helsinki. If you have a pending housing application, you can add the apartments of the new location to your application by editing the application during the application period. A third of the apartments are reserved as exchange apartments for people already living in a Heka apartment.

Mestarintie 18 in rapidly developing Oulunkylä
Heka location Mestarintie 18 in Oulunkylä is located by excellent transport connections at the intersection of Käskynhaltijantie and Mestarintie. The location includes two stairwells with lifts and a total of 47 apartments, ranging from 30 m2 studios to 86 m2 four-room family apartments.
Oulunkylä features a comprehensive range of services, such as shops, schools and daycare centres, and offers plenty of recreational opportunities. In Mestarintie 18, the nearest grocery store is located about 300 metres away. Helsinki city centre is approximately 10 minutes away by train, and light rail line 15 and several bus lines also operate in the Oulunkylä area.
All of the apartments are designed to be fully accessible. Most of the apartments include a glazed balcony, terrace or unglazed patio. Each apartment also comes with a heated storage compartment located in the attic of the building.
The apartments are light and feature functional floor plans. They feature durable vinyl plank floors. The well-equipped kitchens feature a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, induction cooker and plenty of storage space. The colour of the appliances is white. The bathrooms feature a sink, a mirror cabinet and a laundry cabinet. The bathrooms feature ceramic tile floors and walls.
Mestarintie 18 features many shared facilities that support the everyday life of tenants. These include a laundry room and club room on the ground floor and a shared sauna in the attic. In addition to them, the building includes storage space for outdoor equipment. There are a total of 17 parking spaces located in the local shared-use parking area. Three of the parking spaces are designed for people with reduced mobility. Bicycles can be stored in the yard area and the storage rooms on the ground floor.
Like all new Heka locations, Mestarintie 18 is a smoke-free location: smoking is prohibited inside the apartments, on the balconies, in the shared facilities and in the yard.

Renovated Heka apartments to be completed in Tapanila in March
The application period for the apartments of Heka location Saniaistie 3 has started and will continue as long as there are apartments available.
The location includes a total of 117 apartments, ranging from functional studios to more spacious three-room apartments. The generally light-coloured apartments have vinyl plank floors and ceramic tiles in the bathrooms, which are practical and low-maintenance. The kitchens have ample storage space, a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, oven, cooker and extractor hood, and space for a microwave. The one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments have their own balconies.
