The rules of conduct define how tenants are expected to behave in Heka buildings. We have set out these rules to ensure the comfort and safety of our tenants. The updates to the rules of conduct were prepared by a working group in 2021, which involved representatives of both Heka and tenants.
The Heka board approved the new rules of conduct at its meeting on 6 October 2021. The new rules of conduct will enter into force on 1 January 2022.
The most noteworthy changes to the rules concern smoking, which will be restricted further.
From 1 January 2022 onwards, smoking will be prohibited on shared balconies and access balconies, in the yard areas and plots of the properties, and in the parking areas, in addition to the shared indoor facilities. Smoking in the yard or plot is only allowed in designated smoking areas. The designated smoking area may be around a standing ashtray outdoors, for example. The tenants and their guests will be informed of the smoking ban and permitted smoking areas with signs.
In addition to this, the new rules of conduct include some minor specifications, changes and additions.
The rules will be distributed to each home by the end of the year
We will distribute the new rules of conduct to all Heka dwellings and display them on the buildings’ noticeboards in December. The rules of conduct and the changes to them will be featured extensively in Heka’s communications towards the end of 2021, including the Hima magazine and our social media channels.
