Helsinki Region Environmental Services HSY will conduct an extra collection round for hazardous waste. HSY’s vehicles will tour Helsinki from 21 September to 10 October 2022. The collection is intended especially for areas with no permanent hazardous waste collection point. Residents can bring hazardous waste for collection free of charge, such as

  • paint
  • waste oil
  • old petrol
  • cleaning chemicals
  • fluorescent tubes and energy saving lamps
  • unused aerosol cans and bottles as well as nail polish.

Waste that is hazardous to the environment and health is never to be poured down the drain, put in the rubbish bin or especially thrown into nature. Electrical waste and scrap metal are not accepted in the autumn collection, unlike in the collection vehicle tour organised in spring.
